First Kiss
I just got my first kiss from my sweet boy! Unfortunately I didn't have my camera close by, so no pictures or video. But here's what happened...I was lying on my back on the floor and Dawson was "scooting" around next to me. He looked over at me and I puckered my lips and made that sound when you open & close them (you all know what I'm talking about, right?). Now here's the good part...he leaned over and put his lips right against mine for a couple seconds than sat back up!!! So sweet! I got 3 kisses like this until he got distracted by his assortment of toys.

7 Months Old!!
I say this all the time...but how did this month go by so fast?! I was just coming to terms with the fact that Dawson had turned 6 months and he had been in our lives for half of a year already. I guess time flies when your having fun playing peek-a-boo all day. So let's see, this month Dawson has started talking more than ever. He doesn't get that from any strangers...he's got to keep up with his mom all day! Sadly, I don't think "mama" is going to be one of his first words and trust me, I'm trying to get him to learn his M's. Right now B is his favorite letter and I swear he says "Hi" back to me in the cutest high pitched voice, and he did throw out a couple D's the other day making me wonder if dada will be the lucky one. Still no crawling. I don't think he can get any closer without just doing it so any day now I'm sure. He gets on all fours no problem and sometimes he'll scoot or jump his knees forward and sometimes he'll move his arms forward, the problem is he doesn't do it together so he ends up crashing on his belly. Unfortunately Dawson had to celebrate his birthday today with a cold :( but here's what we were up to:
Started off the morning playing with his toes.
I can never resist getting pictures of those squishy thighs. I can't wait for nicer weather when he can just be in onesies to show off the rolls!
We met Grandpa Gartner at the Lynden Home Show to check some things out and visit Grandma. As usual, Dawson was quite the attention grabber.

A Week In Review
Have you ever had one of those weeks that you feel like you've been so busy, but if you stop and think about it you have not really done anything? Well that pretty much sums up this past week for me. I have not gotten anything done around the house and obviously have not had a chance to do any blogging but I really have no idea what I was doing, besides being a mom of course. So I thought I would go through the pictures on the camera for this post to see what we have actually been up to.
Play Date
Yesterday I had some of the mom's and babies from our childbirth class over for a play date.
I love how Riley sits up so straight and proper!
Dawson looks so much older to me when a picture captures his teeth!
Alena & Maxwell
I HATE Sweet Potatoes!
We introduced Dawson to sweet potatoes and as you can see from the pictures he wasn't crazy about them. We tried two nights in a row and got the same reaction so I think we'll move on to the next veggie and then it's on to some fruits.
New Sweater!
My boss Nancy knitted Dawson a sweater. Very impressive,
it's so cute and even has elephant buttons.
On Saturday we had friends and babies over for a visit.
Maia is getting so beautiful as she grows up!

Snow Day
So I'm sitting in my living room right now watching the snow fall and the icicles hanging off the roof lengthen. This is crazy! It has been snowing ALL day long. I thought we were done with this kind of weather for the year...at least I was hoping we were. Our nice weather last week was such a tease! Not like I didn't know this before, but I am SO a warm weather person. Why do I live in Ferndale, WA-who knows?! Okay, it's so I can be close to my family and friends that I love but how I would love to live in Florida, Hawaii, maybe Mexico... :)
We decided not to venture out in the cold today and instead stay warm and cozy inside. Dawson was having a rough day. Poor boy's teeth are causing him a lot of pain. Last night he didn't sleep much at all so luckily he took a lot of naps today but I feel so bad when I can't really help him.
Here's a peak at how we spent our snow day...
Dawson was much more interested in watching the snow fall today than he was in December.
He kept busy trying to pick up Cheerios on his own. I break them in half (because I'm a worry wart and I don't want him to choke) but even when he finally gets a grasp on one he can't quite figure out how to get it in his mouth-it's pretty cute to watch.
To relieve one of his crying fits I cuddled with him in our bed and he took an hour and a half nap. It was a nice chance for me to relax and read a magazine, and I LOVE getting to cuddle for that long. Luckily right when he woke up he was in a much better mood and ready to play!
Once Chad got home it was bath time.

All Dressed Up!
Friday night we celebrated Jama's birthday. It was a fun night of visiting, wine and delicious snacks. John requested we all dress up which made for a great excuse to get some pictures with Dawson.
We're trying to make an effort to take more pictures of all 3 of us...
even if we have to use the timer on the camera.

Out for a Walk
Friday was such a beautiful day that Chad and I bundled up Dawson and went for a great walk. My friend Andrea had taken Jama and I (and the kids) a couple days before to a cute little pond full of ducks and geese, so that's where we went.

Carrots & Avocado...Mmmm!!
We started introducing some new foods to Dawson.
Last week we tried carrots.
I gave him the whole carrot after I had peeled it so he could get some of the flavor.
